Iwearyourshirt.com recent pitch

A recent pitch I sent to a national journalist looking for a "bootstrapping" business! Jason Sadler's creative approach to marketing and himself should be a lesson to all of us to be creative and think outside the box!!!! See below and let me know your thoughts!

In this up and down economy Jason Sadler, founder of this ever so creative marketing idea, outsources his daily wardrobe (namely shirts) to corporate America. This creative shirt wearing guy loves out of the box marketing/advertising and thought this would be a fun alternative for people who currently use banner ads or don't advertise at all.

Days are sold at “face value” so January 1 is $1, January 2 is $2, January 3 is $3 all the way to December 31 which is $365. He also offers monthly sponsorships. With 38 days left to sell, by December 31 he will earn $66,795 for the days alone, plus another $18,000 in monthly sponsors. Total = $84,795. As far as his start up fees for this "bootstrapping business", the I Wear Your Shirt website was created by his company, so all the design/hosting/programming was free! Sadler only paid for a UPS Box and an extra 200 hangers for all his shirts. He purchased a HARO ad which was placed February 9th which created a ton of buzz and sold 40+ days. He has another spot coming up May 24 which he hopes will promote the 2010 plans or close out the remaining days in 2009.

He has worn a different shirt for a numerous amount of companies since Jan 1 and will continue to wear a different shirt for the remainder of days through 2009. He uses a handful of the free social media tools to promote a person's company/product/blog/etc and has fun doing it. He also airs live during a daily Ustream show at 3pm EST and on YouTube that discusses the company of the day and contests that are going on to win free stuff from the companies.

The Iwearyourshirt.com phenomenon has swept across the USA with the small and large companies looking for different angle and has gained popularity with articles written about this creative marketing plan in the NYTimes, LATimes, MSN Money, The Guardian and the Wall Street Journal.

Should you have any questions or need more info feel free to contact myself or Jason Sadler at iwearyourshirt@gmail.com. He is available for interviews/emails. Check out his live show every day at 3pm on www.Ustream.com/iwearyourshirt or www.iwearyourshirt.com.
